FAQ
Will the Sleepy Hat help my baby fall asleep faster?
Light, screens, and people can provide a lot of stimulation for your baby. Tired babies become frustrated by overstimulation and by their effort to ease into sleep.
The Sleepy Hat helps block out visual distractions so your baby can ease into that sleepy state more easily.
How is the Sleepy Hat different from other baby hats?
A carefully designed mask is attached to the hat. Just thick and wide enough to block light and visual distractions, it gently covers your baby's eyes to help them get to that sleepy state.
Please note that the Sleepy Hat is not intended for crib or overnight use. Adult supervision is required at all times, and you can find all safe sleep information here.
When and where should I use the Sleepy Hat?
Use it when you’d normally put a hat on your baby: during stroller rides, travel, errands, or wind-down routines. It’s ideal for bright or busy settings where your baby may need help calming.
How do I pick the right size for my baby?
The Sleepy Hat comes in four sizes. The dimensions are listed in the product description, so simply measure the circumference of your baby's head and pick the size you need!
Is the Sleepy Hat made of safe materials?
Yes! The fabrics we use are OKEO-tex certified that have been tested by an independent third party lab.
Why was the Sleepy Hat created?
What are some alternatives to swaddling?
While swaddling is a common practice to help babies feel secure and calm, it’s not the only method to soothe your little one. Some parents opt for alternatives like sleep sacks, white noise machines, or gently rocking their baby to sleep. However, for babies who find visual distractions overwhelming, blocking these out can be a game changer.
Unlike swaddling, the Sleepy Hat focuses on minimizing visual distractions. It features a soft, attached mask that gently covers your baby’s eyes, helping to create a calm environment without restricting movement.
The Sleepy Hat is designed to fit snugly, ensuring that your baby’s nostrils remain uncovered, making it a safe and effective option to help soothe baby while supervised. If you’re looking for a way to help your baby settle into sleep without the need for swaddling, the Sleepy Hat is a wonderful alternative!
